I got this mixtape last summer...been listening to it almost non-stop since then. You know those albums/mixtapes that you listen to when you aren't sure what to choose? Cuz you know its gonna hit the spot

Short summary: Weed, Bitches, Money. Not the most intellectual nor innovative lyrics i've ever heard, and honestly, I couldn't tell you what it is about this mixtape that keeps pulling me back, but its dope.

The Warm Up

This guy did a track called Lights Please and he bugged record execs and labels for ages until, of all people, Jay-Z ends up hearing the track. He must have liked it, because J. Cole then became the first artist to get signed to his new label Roc Nation.

This album is great hip hop, but what appeals to me most is his honesty. I've bin listening to it a lot so maybe it grew on me, but I definitely think its worth a listen.
